Step 1: Go to the official portal

First, visit the official portal of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and select the ‘ Apply for New Ujjwala Connection ‘ option.

Step 2: Choosing a gas company

• Indian , Bharat Gas or HP Gas – choose any one of these three companies.
• After selecting the company, click on the ‘Ujjwala 3 New Connection’ option.
• View the list of gas distributors (agencies) in your area and select the agency nearest you.

Step 3: Entering KYC and personal details

• Verify your mobile number via OTP .
• Select the ‘New KYC’ option and fill in your family’s information like ration card number, social category and Aadhaar card number of members above 18 years of age.
• Fill in the personal details (name, address, etc.) of the applicant woman (headwoman) clearly.

Step 4: Uploading documents and bank details

• Scan and upload important documents like Aadhar card, ration card, and declaration form .
• Most importantly: Enter the bank account details (IFSC code and account number) correctly into which the government subsidy/grant (DBT) is to be deposited .
• Finally, select the cylinder you want (14.2 kg or 5 kg) and your area (rural or urban) and submit the form .
